Pigdon/Canning Street Roundabout‘Bombay to Beijing by Bicycle’ Ticket Offer

Pigdon/Canning Street Roundabout
A local resident has raised very serious concerns regarding cyclist/motorist conflict at this roundabout in North Carlton. Yarra Council has installed green bikelane treatments in the last few years to attempt to minimise conflict between road users. Unfortunately there are further reports of serious conflicts between road users.
Possible solutions:
- the removal of the roundabout and the creation of the right of way along either Pigdon Street or Canning Street,
- the implementation of traffic lights,
- the implementation of speed humps.
If you ride through this roundabout and have further possible idea/solutions please don’t hesitate to contact us. I am willing to volunteer to observe this roundabout at peaktime, ie: morning 7.30am-9am or 5pm-6pm later this week. A Families of the future cycling course, will be held in Northcote on 13th and 20th May. The course is about family cycling and encouraging parents and friends to feel confident about cycling with young children:
Part 1: cycling with children on board (0-4 years) – 13th May
Part 2: cycling with novice riders (5-10 years) – 20th May

Its produced in the Czech Republic by the World Car Free Network. Lots of interesting, new ideas. Definitely worth a read!
