LOCAL ISSUES
Linear Park: Video Ezy
As you would of noticed, via email correspondence on the YarraBUG yahoogroup, the campaign is on to get the Video Ezy building demolished and the area returned to open space. Read here for MorelandBUG’s questions from the November 8th council meeting. I’ve received correspondence back from three Moreland councillors, as the issue now part of a Moreland Council ‘feasibility study’. Well, local councils have had well over 20 years to sort this out, including going back to the Pullen Report. So lets keep the pressure on, please keep contacting Moreland Council and make your opinions known. Last weekend Moreland BUG received 174 signatures on their petition, in only four hours!
Clifton Hill Rail Project
YarraBUG have been invited as a community stakeholder to have input into the rail duplication and new bridge between Clifton Hill and Westgarth Station. It’s possible that this will be a opportunity to get that part of the Merri Creek shared path re-aligned. At the moment we’re not entirely sure of the project’s intended scope, but if you have any suggestions, please contact us as we will be meeting with DoI in the next few weeks. Read here for further details from DoI.
