The 30kph trial has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yarracity.vic.gov.au\/news\/2017\/09\/05\/yarra-to-introduce-30kmh-speed-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">started<\/a>\u00a0in the City of Yarra while in the Netherlands, Dutch cyclists are facing a\u00a0<a class=\"ext\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2018\/sep\/27\/dutch-cyclists-face-mobile-phone-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mobile phone ban<\/a>. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.manningham.vic.gov.au\/mullum-mullum-trail-opening\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mullum Mullum trail extension<\/a>\u00a0has opened and Australia scores a silver at the\u00a0<a class=\"ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/news\/spratt-silver-feels-like-a-victory-at-world-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Championships.<\/a> The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tac.vic.gov.au\/about-the-tac\/media-room\/news-and-events\/2018\/cyclists-and-all-victorians-to-benefit-from-tac-changes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TAC reinstates cover for cyclists<\/a>\u00a0who are involved in accidents with stationary vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>We take a look at Jenica Brooke&#8217;s excellent analysis of the Buckley Street Level Crossing Removal and the dire consequences for cyclists,\u00a0<a class=\"ext\" href=\"https:\/\/melbournecommuter.blogspot.com\/2018\/09\/the-buckley-st-level-crossing-removal.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">read the whole thing here<\/a>.\u00a0 Discussion turns to the Mike Hall inquest held this past week in Canberra over three days. While we wait for the Coroner&#8217;s findings in January we touched upon the police investigation and the gracious response of\u00a0<a class=\"ext\" href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/news\/249194-mike-halls-mother-says-she-forgives-driver-involved-fatal-collision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patricia Hall,<\/a>\u00a0Mike&#8217;s mother.
