Melb Bicycle Touring Club: Kinglake Loop – Sunday 26th July<\/strong>
\nDistance: 80km, Rating: Medium – Hard, Bike: Road or touring bike .. all sealed roads. Some sections may have traffic. This is a classic ridge top ride. Originally scheduled on the March calendar it was postponed due to road closures caused by bushfire. Much of the ride has been affected by bushfire. MBTC is donating funds to the restoration of this area. Come and see the unrestricted views and state of recovery.<\/p>\n

Meet: 9.00 am at Hurstbridge Station (carpark) – Meeting the 7:41 am train from Flinders St (Use a Metlink weekend saver ticket). Ride Route: Hurstbridge – Arthurs Creek – Yan Yean – Whittlesea – Humevale – Kinglake West – Pheasant Creek – Kinglake – St Andrews – Hurstbridge. Semaine F\u00e9d\u00e9rale en Australie \u2013 Festival of Cycling Bright, Victoria, 17\u2013 23 January 2010<\/strong>
\n7 days of rides and entertainment from a central base. Semaine F\u00e9d\u00e9rale is a week long series of rides organised from a central location catering for cyclists of all abilities, whose aim is to give participants the opportunity to share their passion in a festival atmosphere that celebrates cycle touring.<\/p>\n

The concept of Semaine F\u00e9d\u00e9rale is borrowed from the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise de Cyclotourisme (FFCT) who have been organising this event in France for over 70 years. The FFCT have agreed to partner Audax Australia in organising this event for the first time in Australia but also the first time outside of France.<\/p>\n

Following a hub and spoke the rides will start from Bright and many attractions in the scenic country of the Alpine district. Rides of various lengths will offer an opportunity to discover the region at a level suited to the ability of all participants.<\/p>\n

The Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail provides a safe option for those with children, and the high mountains a challenge to the adventurous. Whether you are kicking back and relaxing or preparing for the Audax Alpine Classic, Semaine F\u00e9d\u00e9rale has something for you.
