It&#8217;s a tough week of racing and\u00a0 it will be a fitting winner that is crowned in Melbourne at Tour&#8217;s end!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldsuntour.com.au\/index.php?id=241\"><strong>Honda Hybrid Women&#8217;s Tour &#8211; 15 &#8211; 17 October 2009<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nHeld in conjunction with the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, TL Sports are working with Cycling Australia and CycleSport Victoria to stage a Women\u2019s Tour as part of the National Women&#8217;s Series.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yarracity.vic.gov.au\/publications\/Media%20Releases\/Ride%20to%20work.asp\"><strong>Yarra Residents  encouraged to Ride to Work on 14 October<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nCyclists  young and old are encouraged to get on their bikes for Ride to Work Day on  Wednesday 14 October. Council is supporting Ride to Work Day by hosting a free breakfast for participants at Mayors Park, Clifton Hill between 7am and 9am.<\/p>\n<p>Cyclists can drop in for free tea, coffee and breakfast and go in the running to win one of five Crumpler bags or a three-month membership to Yarra\u2019s Leisure Centres. Free bike maintenance and engraving by Victoria Police will also be available on the day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yarracity.vic.gov.au\/Consultation\/Bicycle%20advisory%20committee\/\"><strong>Yarra Bicycle Advisory Committee &#8211; 21 October 2009<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nYarra City Council\u2019s Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) meets six times per year. The BAC&#8217;s role is to give local residents an opportunity to provide regular input to Council on the development of a bicycle network and other bicycle infrastructure in Yarra. The BAC is chaired by Cr Sam Gaylard and resourced by Council&#8217;s Strategic Transport Unit.<\/p>\n<p>Membership is open to any member of the Yarra community with an interest in policies related to cycling and the development of the local bicycle network. People interested in attending meetings of the Bicycle Advisory Committee should contact Mark Kulyk, Acting Coordinator \u2013 Strategic Transport, at mark.kulyk[AT]yarracity.vic.gov.au  or on 9205 5737. Tragically in December 2006 Scott was killed whilst on a training ride near Mansfield in regional Victoria. To honour Scott&#8217;s memory the Scott Peoples Foundation was formed to assist in the development of junior cycling in regional Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with the Scott Peoples Foundation we are proud to announce that the 2nd annual Scotty&#8217;s Ride will take place on Saturday 12th December 2009.\u00a0 The 120km or 55km recreational challenge rides will take place on the quiet country roads around Scott&#8217;s home town of Shepparton.
