Free bike maintenance and engraving by Victoria Police will also be available on the day.<\/p>\n Yarra Bicycle Advisory Committee – 21 October 2009<\/strong><\/a> Membership is open to any member of the Yarra community with an interest in policies related to cycling and the development of the local bicycle network. \nFour days of tough road racing take the tour to Colac, Warrnambool, Apollo Bay, Anglesea and Barwon Heads with much of the time spent on the world class Great Ocean Rd.\u00a0 A technical individual time\u00a0 trial in Geelong, home of the 2010 Road World Championships should decide the race before a fast and furious circuit race finish in Lygon st, the heart of Melbourne’s Little Italy. It’s a tough week of racing and\u00a0 it will be a fitting winner that is crowned in Melbourne at Tour’s end!<\/p>\n
\nHeld in conjunction with the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, TL Sports are working with Cycling Australia and CycleSport Victoria to stage a Women\u2019s Tour as part of the National Women’s Series.<\/p>\n
\nCyclists young and old are encouraged to get on their bikes for Ride to Work Day on Wednesday 14 October. Council is supporting Ride to Work Day by hosting a free breakfast for participants at Mayors Park, Clifton Hill between 7am and 9am.<\/p>\n
\nYarra City Council\u2019s Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) meets six times per year. The BAC’s role is to give local residents an opportunity to provide regular input to Council on the development of a bicycle network and other bicycle infrastructure in Yarra. The BAC is chaired by Cr Sam Gaylard and resourced by Council’s Strategic Transport Unit.<\/p>\n

The 24th of October the 350 campaign will unite a global voice and compel international governments to set strong targets for December’s UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.<\/p>\n
