City of Yarra Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting
The next City of Yarra Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting will be held at 6.30pm, Wednesday 19th August 2009. Please note the change of venue: the BAC meeting will be held in the Mayors Room, Fitzroy Town Hall, corner of Napier and Moor Street, Fitzroy, not Richmond Town Hall as previously advised.

This meeting will include discussion of the proposed Yarra Bicycle Plan, so this is vitally important for anyone interested in cycling in Yarra attend for briefing and feedback. Please tell everyone you know to attend!

If you wish to come to this meeting, please RSVP to Mark Kulyk (Mark.Kulyk[AT]yarracity.vic.gov.au) by Monday 17th August. Ph: 9205 5737. Attendees will also obtain a copy of the Yarra Bicycle Plan at the meeting. There is bicycle parking on the Napier Street side of Fitzroy Town Hall and also at the Napier Hotel opposite the roundabout. See you there!

Darebin BUG Social Rides – Tuesday 18 August
Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 a.m. corner Plant and Union street, Northcote. 40-60 km rides mainly on bike paths and quiet streets for experienced cyclists. Bring lunch, snacks and water. Contact Norm on 9484 4767 to confirm start time and location (usually departs from Jika Jika Community Centre cnr Union & Plant streets Northcote).

Amy Gillett Foundation: Looking for outbound caller
The AGF are looking for a person to contact Learner Driver Schools nationally to raise awareness of the Road Right program. This is not a selling role. The person will be provided with a script and list of contact details. You will be required to work from home (using either Skype or phone call costs will be reimbursed) approximately 20 hours per week for two months. This is a paid position. A Metre Matters
For those who have become a fan of the Amy Gillett Foundation on Facebook you will have seen some discussion on a logo for a new campaign they are working on, “A Metre Matters”. Melbourne 2010 Cycling – Volunteers Wanted
The Australian Government’s support for the 2010 UCI Road World Championships (Melbourne 2010) and its Volunteer Program is an acknowledgement of the critical role that volunteers will have in ensuring the success of the event.
