Melbourne BUG ride – Sunday 14th March
10.00 am – North Melbourne Railway Station
Need: Sunday rail ticket and coffee money
Route: train to Coburg and then ride via Coburg Lake and Merri Creek trail to CERES. Coffee and then return to North Melbourne via Merri Creek trail and Capital City trail.
Ride: is largely on offroad shared paths, with a little riding on quiet streets.
Distance: 20 km; Suitable: for families; Pace: slow. Organiser: Helen.

Petty’s Orchard Ride – Sunday 28th March

Join us on a ride along the Yarra Trail to the Apple tasting festival at Petty’s Orchard in Templestowe. Glide past billabongs, wetlands, areas of revegetation and regeneration by our beloved Yarra River. Arrive at an organic fruit orchard, and pick your favourite apple out of more than 200 varieties!
Speakers: David Holmgren, permaculture founder and teacher; Vasili Kandiadis of gardening fame; Susan McKinnon, bee expert.
Music, snake charming, picnic, orchard tours!
This is a gorgeous day out. A long ride – 50km if you ride there and back, but there’s the option of catching the train home from Eltham if you’re tuckered out. The ride is medium grade, with some great hills.
