Yarra Bicycle Users Group Radio: Radiothon 2021!: celebrate everything you love about riding your bike by making a donation to keep 3CR Community Radio and the Yarra BUG Radio Show on the air for another year and that all donations over $2 are tax-deductible!
This weeks one hour radiothon program has back to back YarraBUG shows, first up with Faith and Val and then the second half hour with Chris and Steve. Starting off with bicycle poetry, then a nice hard sell to help raise $250,000 to keep 3CR on air, bicycle moments, thanking people for donations thus far, getting Lego to include bicycle lanes, Future Melbourne Committee meeting about supporting City of Melbournes seperated bicycle lane roll out, the traditional Mulga Bill’s Bicycle recitation and providing feedback to the Plenty River Trail.
Continuing the polite hard sell to kick along 3CR Radiothon, Chris and Steve discuss ongoing issues with shared path works and signage in Royal Park, the impact of last weeks wind storms, Alice Clarkes excellent article ‘Riding a bike is sweet freedom, even if it might kill me‘ celebrating her new found love of cycling to work, cycling advocates in Wellington, Aotearoa, taking safety matters into their own hands by installing seperated lanes (Stand-off between Wellington City Council, cyclists over unauthorised pop-up cycleway), and news about the upcoming 2021 edition of Race to the Rock and new Mallee Blast bikepacking adventure in October.
